Dr. Tej Hari Ghimire (Senior Evaluation Expert)

Dr. Ghimire is a senior economist. He contributed knowledge, management, and technical practices to local and regional economic development (LRED) process, rural finance, client protection, agriculture and livelihood, investment and remittance, resilience and integrated projects initiatives as senior management and technical leader when working with Paribartan ( 2017-present) as Lead Assessor, Norlha- Helping People in the Himalayas, a Swiss-based INGO ( 2012-2027) as Country Director, Centre for Microfinance ( 2006-2012) as CEO, Nepal-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( 2004-2006) as CEO, National Cooperative Development Board ( 2002-2003) as Cooperative Development Expert, and Sushma Koirala Memorial Trust ( 1997-2002) as Executive Director/ Rural Development Specialist. He accomplished 75 independent assignments in the field of LRED training, Municipal Economic Development Strategy formulation, Participatory Appraisal of Competitive Advantages, program design, project evaluations, baseline studies, end-line and impact assessment, social performance assessment, ICT platform feasibility for the World Bank, Youth-led enterprises feasibility, and programming recommendations as per the project appraisal experiences in remote parts of Nepal, Bhutan, and China/Tibet for service clients such as GIZ, COMO Consult Germany, Norlha, Save the Children, Mercy Corps, WWF, WHH, UNNATI Program- NIRAS-Danida, AIN, SWC, ILO, ICIMOD, Alternative Energy Promotion Center, CECI, and CIDA-CMF. He authored Planning for Rural Development in Nepal: The Five I Cycle Model and more than 25 unpublished reports. He holds PhD in Economics and a Master in Economics from Tribhuvan University, and a Post-Graduate in Integrated Rural and Regional Development Planning from Weitz Centre for Sustainable Development Studies, Rehovot Israel
