FOCUS Nepal embarked on its impactful journey on Falgun 23, 2059 BS (March 7, 2003 AD) with official registration in Dhading. Since April 8, 2003 AD, it has actively engaged with the Social Welfare Council, cementing its commitment to social betterment. Extending its reach beyond Dhading, FOCUS Nepal has gained valuable experiences in Gorakha, Nuwakot, Sindhupalchok, and Makwanpur districts. By steadfastly addressing community needs and prioritizing well-being, FOCUS Nepal operates across various sectors, reinforced by invaluable support from governmental bodies and international donors proudly celebrating 20 years of dedicated and fruitful service.
The organization has been actively coordinating with various international and national non-governmental organizations such as Oxfam Nepal, Heifer Project Nepal, and Caritas Nepal, as well as government agencies including the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Department of Water Supply and Sewerage Management, Dhunibesi Municipality, Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality, Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality, and others.
In the district, amidst various non-governmental organizations and government agencies, FOCUS Nepal has established its own identity. Additionally, national and international networks like NEAR, DP-Net, NGO Federation have been instrumental in raising awareness of the significant presence and concerns of these government institutions.
Addressing vital areas such as water supply, sanitation, disaster risk reduction, agriculture, livestock, and nutrition enhancement, the organization strives to make a significant impact in the communities of rural areas. It blends modern technologies and practices adopting an innovative and adaptive approach. Upholding gender equality, the institution prioritizes inclusive implementation of each project. With a focus on improving the lives of communities, FOCUS Nepal continues to evolve as a leader in sustainable development and effective governance.
Our organization actively executed various programs aiming at enhancing agriculture and livelihoods, water supply, sanitation, market development for agricultural products, and supporting agricultural and livestock production and marketing. We are contributing to the management of water supply schemes and implementation of alternative management approaches through the establishment of Rural Water Supply Management Board in Benighat Rorang and Jwalamukhi Rural Municialities.
Owing to the crisis in global economy, project curtailment and funding crunch has severely hit to our organization too and we are still committed to make the optimal utilization of available resources.
I express my sincere gratitude to our esteemed stakeholders, donor communities, government and non-government agencies, dedicated board members, committed general members, and our exceptional project team. Their unwavering support, seamless coordination, and efficient execution have been instrumental in shaping the organization’s remarkable and enduring journey. Without their invaluable contributions, this organization would not have achieved such milestones and embarked on this transformative journey.
